Underwater Defence & Security
Over 280 delegates from 21 countries attended the largest and most successful Underwater Defence & Security meeting to date.
Since 2013, we have welcomed NATO member nations to our Underwater Defence & Security conference to specifically identify the threats they face and collaboratively agree their response. As the threats from Russia and China have grown, so too has the attendance at the conference as more NATO stakeholders need to understand the threats and the capabilities available to do so.
You can read the key discussion points summary from each day of UDS 2017:
- UDS 2017 MCM Focus Day: Maximising MCM Capabilities within Financial Constraints
- UDS 2017 Aviation Focus Day: Ensuring an interoperable and standardised response
- UDS 2017 Day 1: Integrating Unmanned and Autonomous Systems into Current and Future Naval Operations
- UDS 2017 Day 2: Incremental integration of remote, unmanned and autonomous capabilities
We we will now adapt and evolve the 2018 event to meet the challenges NATO members face. Underwater Defence & Security 2018 will expand into a 4-day event where NATO members will discuss how to respond to this threat and to what extent can unmanned and autonomous systems to be used effectively for dull, dirty and dangerous roles.
